Biography
Professor James Njuguna research is focused on experimental research on composite materials. The research activities revolve around reinforcement, toughness, materials design and selection; and structural-property relationship. A side stream theme of composites research focus on safer-by- design principles on materials design and by exploiting materials failure behaviour to investigate emission/diffusion/release of nanofillers from polymer fibre-reinforced nanocomposites. This in turn contributes to research on development of safer nanocomposites, collaborate with toxicologists on nanomaterials impact on human and environmental health. James has published widely including editor/co-editor of 6 books, 23 book chapters and has contributed over 120 journal and conference publications.

Dr. Sofiane Guessasma is a mechanical engineering scientist, a by-fellow of the Churchill college, University of Cambrige, UK. He is presently a senior scientist at INRA (France) conducting a research activity in the field of additive manufacturing of biosourced materials. He has a key interest on hot topics in mechanical engineering, processing and materials science. He has several contributions related to the microstructural interpretation of material performance, mechanical modelling, image analysis, in-situ experiments, and multi-objective optimisation. He published over 130 journal papers in different research fields.
